We love snorkeling and purposely seek out destinations that have amazing underwater adventures! The Caribbean has many great spots.

Two of our favorites are Bonaire and St. John USVI.

Here are all the sites we have snorkeled in the Caribbean:

Central America has two of the most unique snorkeling experiences in the world.

→     Snorkeling with nurse sharks in Shark Ray Alley in Belize

→     Snorkeling with whale sharks in Isla Mujeres, Mexico

→     Hawaii ( Black Rock in Maui, Honolua Bay in Maui, Manta Ray Village on the Big Island)

The Galapagos offers some of the most spectacular snorkeling we have experienced. Some of the highlights include:

→     Snorkeling with hammerhead sharks at Kicker Rock and Devil’s Crown

→     Snorkeling with gorgeous golden rays in Concha de Perla

→     Snorkeling with marine iguanas and multiple curious, playful sea lions in San Cristobal

→     San Cristobal (La Loberia, Muelle Tijeretas, Kicker Rock, Bahia Rosa Blanca, Bahia Sardina)

→     Isabela (Concha de Perla, Los Tuneles, Los Tintoreras)

→     Santa Cruz (Tortuga Bay) 

→     Pinacle Rock, Bartolome Island

→     Chinese Hat 

→     Floreana (Devil’s Crown, Post Office Bay) 

French Polynesia has some of the best snorkeling in the world including the opportunity to swim with humpback whales. Some of our favorite experiences include:

→     Snorkeling with sharks in the Tiputa Pass in Rangiroa

→     Drift snorkeling at the Coral Gardens in Taha’a

→     Snorkeling with blacktips and rays in Moorea

Here are all the sites we have snorkeled in Oceania:

→     Australia (Great Barrier Reef)

→     Bora Bora (multiple sites on a boat tour to see manta rays, eagle rays, and schools of fish)

→     Moorea (Hilton, Temae Beach, Coco Beach, Sharks & Rays Sandbay, Jardin de Corail du Motu Ahi)

→     Taha’a (Coral Garden)

→    Rangiroa (Aquarium, Tiputa Pass, Blue Lagoon, Avatoru Pass)

We had the opportunity to cage dive with both bronze whalers and a great white shark in Cape Town! Wow, just wow. Once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Even though the great white sharks are starting to disappear from this area, it’s still worth the thrill of cage diving with the smaller shark species like bronze whalers.

Here are all the sites we have snorkeled in Africa:

→     South Africa (Cape Town)

→     Seychelles (Felicite Island, Big Sister Island, Little Sister Island, Anse Lazio, Anse Georgette, Petite Anse Kerlan) 

Hands down, the Maldives has some of the BEST snorkeling in the world.

Blacktip reef sharks, whale sharks, sting rays, manta rays, octopuses, turtles, and numerous tropical fish can be found in these waters.

With over 160 resorts to choose from in the Maldives, you have to know which hotels have the best house reef. I’ve done the leg work to discover the best.

My ultimate bucket list snorkeling destination though is Raja Ampat. Some day hopefully soon!
