Day Pass in Mahe Seychelles: 6 Best Resorts Compared

by | Last updated Aug 17, 2025 | Seychelles

My husband and I had just wrapped up an incredible six days in the Seychelles filled with snorkeling, hiking, kayaking in crystal clear water, and eating delicious local food!

When we landed back on Mahe with six hours to spare before our flight to Tanzania, we didn’t feel like camping out at the airport. Instead, I dug into which resorts on Mahe actually welcome non-guests with day passes and what you really get for the money.

What follows is what I learned from my research, what each hotel emailed me directly, and the alternative creative option we ultimately chose that turned out to be the perfect choice for a long layover.

Nichole Pro Tips:

→   Availability changes a lot. Email the hotel directly a week out and reconfirm 48–72 hours before.

→   Beaches in Seychelles are public, but loungers, pools, and facilities are not. Day passes solve that access gap.

→   Many resorts won’t sell passes on full-occupancy days.

→   If you just want the beach and a great lunch, you can often book the restaurant without a pass and enjoy the sand, but not the pool.

01- Four Seasons Resort Seychelles

Four Seasons Seychelles

Four Seasons Seychelles in Mahe

When I looked into the Four Seasons Seychelles, the biggest takeaway is that it’s definitely the “splurge” option.

The pass gives you access to Petite Anse beach, which kept coming up as one of the most beautiful beaches on Mahe. Plus, it’s supposed to have good snorkeling.

All beaches in the Seychelles are public, so you can reach Petite Anse without a pass. But you’d still need to enter through the resort and then take a long walk down to the beach.

It reminded me of when we snorkeled at Anse Georgette on Praslin. Stunning spot, but we had to walk through the 5-star resort Constance Lemuria to get there.

So if you’re into snorkeling and want the full luxury experience (loungers, service, pool, the works), this resort definitely delivers.

It’s priced much higher than the others (especially since a day-use room isn’t part of the deal), but that premium seems tied to the Four Seasons name and the level of service that comes with it.

02- Kempinski Seychelles Resort

Kempinski Seychelles Resort

Kempinski Seychelles Resort in Mahe

The Kempinski Seychelles Resort came up a lot on TripAdvisor during my research as a solid mid-range choice.

It’s set right on Baie Lazare, which we checked out during our Mahe island tour. Such a gorgeous, quiet, and peaceful beach that people even get married there.

With perks like food credit, spa discounts, and even a Cocktail Masterclass, it seems to lean more toward couples or travelers who want real value, not just a beach chair for the day.

To me, it hits a nice middle ground. Polished resort feel without the higher price tag of Four Seasons or Anantara.

03- Carana Beach Hotel

Carana Beach Hotel in Mahe Seychelles

Carana Beach Hotel in Mahe, Seychelles

Carana Beach Hotel really appealed to me as one of the more boutique-style choices.

What makes this hotel stand out is the option to book a Day Use room, either an ocean-view chalet or an upgrade with a private plunge pool overlooking the water. Both give you direct beach access and a place to shower up after.

The main pool is also oceanfront, which reminded me a lot of our favorite property in La Digue, Le Nautique.

The foodie angle here caught my attention too. On their website, they highlight that their menu is sourced from their family-owned farm. When I looked into it, I discovered that the farm is on Denis Private Island, their luxurious sister property.

Denis Island is supposed to have some of the very best snorkeling in Seychelles, and I included it in my Ultimate Seychelles Snorkeling Guide if you are curious. I thought that connection was pretty cool.

Their food-farm connection reminded me of when we stayed at Le Meridien Maldives where so much of the food was grown right on the island, and I still remember how fresh the lettuce was in our island salads.

As big foodies, those little details really stuck with us.

04- Savoy Seychelles Resort & Spa

Savoy Seychelles Resort & Spa

Savoy Seychelles Resort & Spa in Mahe

When I was looking into day passes, Savoy Seychelles Resort & Spa stood out as a strong value-for-money option.

Its prime spot on Beau Vallon, one of Mahe’s busiest and most active beaches, makes it a great choice if you’re after a livelier, more central setting with plenty happening right outside the resort.

Stacking it up against Kempinski, which is priced the same, the main difference comes down to atmosphere.

Both include Kids Clubs and similar pool and credit perks, but Savoy’s higher food credit and Beau Vallon location make it feel more geared toward families and activity-seekers.

Kempinski, on the other hand, sits on Baie Lazare, which we visited during our Mahe island tour. It is a beautiful, tranquil beach where weddings are often held, giving the resort a quieter and more refined vibe.

05- Anantara MAIA Seychelles Villas

Private Pool Villa at Anantara MAIA Seychelles Villas in Mahe

Private Pool Villa at Anantara MAIA Seychelles Villas in Mahe

After looking into Anantara MAIA Seychelles Villas‘ offer, I’d say it’s less of a “day pass” and more of an 8-hour mini-luxury escape.

You get a private villa with plunge pool, a massage, and a dedicated Villa Host. It’s basically a honeymoon sampler.

Pricey doesn’t even begin to cover it, but the handful of reviews I found describe it as exceptional if you want that ONE perfect day.

06- Canopy by Hilton Seychelles

Canopy by Hilton Seychelles

Canopy by Hilton Seychelles in Mahe

Canopy by Hilton Seychelles is the budget-friendly, family-oriented option.

You get access to multiple pools and a food/drink credit. It’s very kid-friendly compared to the other resorts.

It doesn’t try to be over-the-top luxury, but that’s kind of the point; it’s easygoing, accessible, and beachfront.

What We Chose Instead (And Loved)

My husband and I compared all the resorts’ inclusions and realized a private island tour would give us more variety in less time.

We booked a 6-hour tour with Nils from Cocotier Tours, left our luggage in his car, and he tailored the route to our interests.

We hit standout beaches, a local art gallery, a rum distillery, and a relaxed island lunch without watching the clock.

Why this beat a day pass for us for a long layover before our international flight:

  • Maximum amount of sites with zero logistics.
  • A local host who knows all the hidden gems
  • Experience local culture and food, not just a lounger.

Final Thoughts

Day passes in Mahe, Seychelles can be the perfect mini-escape. Each resort has its own sweet spot.

My Final Take:

  • Four Seasons → for luxury seekers and snorkel fans who want the iconic Mahe beach experience.
  • Kempinski → for travelers who want value with perks like food and spa credits, set on a quieter beach.
  • Carana Beach → for boutique lovers who appreciate food sourcing, a private plunge pool, and a low-key vibe.
  • Anantara MAIA → for honeymooners or anyone willing to splurge on a one-day dream villa.
  • Savoy → for families or travelers who want a livelier, central setting right on Beau Vallon with plenty of activity around.
  • Canopy by Hilton → for budget-conscious travelers and families.

We ran the numbers, checked the logistics, and picked a private island tour instead. It gave us more of Mahe in less time!
